An Afternoon Stroll in Zilker Botanical Gardens
After a week of cold weather in Austin – with the temperature in the 30s – it was very pleasant that today, 1 February 2014, the temperature reached 74 F. Before this rare beautiful warm weather suddenly turned to gray and cold again, I, Alfred and Junior took the opportunity by strolling in Zilker Botanical Garden. Considering it was in the middle of winter, we did’t expect much of this park. It turned out that in spite of the unfavorable season, Zilker was still able to show off its charm.
Located in the south bank of Colorado River, near downtown Austin, Texas, this 22 acre botanical garden features several independently gardens: such as Rose Garden, Herb Garden, Cactus and Succulent Garden.
During our visit, most of the flowering plants had not grown back to show off their beauty. However, the signs of spring had already appeared here and there.
