Ratu Boko
Kraton Ratu Boko (Ratu Boko’s Palace) stands proudly at the top of the hill, facing north toward the Prambanan Temple and Mount Merapi. When most of the historical relics in Java are in the form of religious temples, Ratu Boko site is believed to be a remains of a palace. The locals believe that the palace once belong to King Boko, the king’s in the Javanese folklore of Lara Jonggrang, but archaeologists think it was the palace of King Sailendra of Mataram

Good morning, Rae Mea
Wouldn’t it be great if everyday we wake up and greet a different place of the world?
Let me start today by greeting RAE MEA. A beautiful beach on the east side of Savu Island, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This beach may not be found in google earth. Dispite its exotic tropical virgin beauty, not too many people know its existance. Most Savuneses that I know – and I know a lot of them, since I married one – don’t know this hideout.
Rae Mea has it all. A blue crystal clear water. White silky sandy beach. A daring red canyon as daring as the one in Zion National Park, Utah, United States. A deep Savu Sea, the home of the Blue Whales and Sperm Whales.
It takes time to get to Rae Mea, but it is not difficult. From Jakarta you can fly to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Batavia has a direct 3 hour flight from Jakarta to Kupang. Garuda has a once a day flight to Kupang with one stopover in Denpasar, Bali. From Kupang there are three times a day flight to Savu Island using a 12 passanger aircrafts. The flying time is around 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Tardamu airport of Savu, you only need another hour to get to Rae Mea.
Believe me, the time you spend travelling to get there is very much worth it.
